Foster Families

These special families care for our pets until their forever home is found.  All vet care is paid by the Coalition.  Families are responsible for all the love and affection they can possibly lavish on their foster pet.  Sometimes we can supply foster families with donated food, but in the event that we do not have any, the families are responsible for the cost of food.  Families must also bring their pet to any required vet visits and as many outreach events as possible.  We are in desperate need of foster families.  The more families that work with us the more pets we can rescue. Click here to download and print an application and fax to 610-862-3938. You can also click here to download a Microsoft Word file which you can fill out, save to your computer, then email back to us at info@acdc.ws.  Or fill out the online form and click "Submit". Have a question? Email us at fostering@acdc.ws.

Ways to Volunteer:

Volunteer Opportunities
We are always looking for volunteers to help us. We are open to people from all walks of life, all ages from teens in need of volunteering, community service or B'nai Mitzvot to seniors or retirees feeling a need to be of service. Please note: you must be 18 years old to submit the application on-line.  Teens under 18 need to print out the application and have it signed by a parent/guardian.
  • PR Volunteer-Hang up flyers advertising events at Vet Offices, Libraries, Community Centers, etc in Delaware County and the Main Line
  • Foster Home/Adoptive Home Coordinators-Help our Foster Coordinators in visiting and communicating with potential and current fosters.  Will also help foster parents conduct home visits with potential adopters and conduct follow-up phone calls with adopters.
  • Phone Counselors--We are looking for people to help return the many phone calls we receive every day.  You choose where you think you can be most helpful (intake, adoption, outreach questions, general questions)
  • Outreach Team Leader--Help our Outreach Director, Joe, in setting up and organizing outreaches.  Help arrange transportation for foster animals to outreach events, if needed.
  • Adoption Center Staff-Maintaining the cleanliness of the center includes cleaning cages, litterboxes, feeding, handling the public when they wish to see one of our cats or just answering general questions they may have-and very importantly-playing and exercising the cats!
